Candidate for Sussex County Council
Billy Carroll and family have been permanent residents of Sussex County for over 20 years. Billy’s children attended Indian River schools including Lord Baltimore, Selbyville Middle, and Indian River High School. Billy and his daughter helped establish girl’s soccer in both the Indian River school district and in Henlopen Conference schools.
Billy feels as though he shares a major investment in the 4th district along with his constituents. In addition to raising 8 children and several grandchildren, Billy has owned and helped operate several area businesses including Studio Eight.
Billy has a son, Christian Carroll, who manages an area insurance company. Christian was an allstate soccer player before he played at Salisbury State. Colin Carroll currently lives and works in Wilmington is a graduate of Wor-Wic College and is the Father of four daughters. Another son, Charles, is a navy veteran and is a jet mechanical engineer who has worked as an independently contracted FAA licensed Inspector at the airport in Georgetown,DE. A daughter, Colleen Carroll Davis, is a part of the Christiana Hospital Medical staff in Newark, DE. Colleen played girls soccer for Indian River High School and attended Philadelphia Textile and Science on a soccer scholarship. Will Carroll and Danny Carroll both work in the Maritime Industry. Will is the Dock Superintendent for a major shipping line while Danny works for the International Longshoreman Association. Both Will and Danny played boys soccer and wrestled for Indian River High School. Will was an All-American Greco Roman and Freestyle wrestler and is Maritime College’s all time record holder for winning Collegiate style matches. Danny was once a member of the Olympic Development team and played soccer for a Division 1 soccer program. Kelly Carroll McCandless is a Delaware River Bay Pilot. She played soccer for Indian River High School where she was named to the girls all state socer team. She was the Maritime College captain of the Women’s soccer team all four years. Mikey Carroll received 11 letters in playing four different sports for Saint Thomas More HS. He played varsity Lacrosse at Maritime College and is currently scheduled to graduate from Maritime College in 2014. He will be a licensed deck officer of unlimited tonnage after graduation.
Billy is married to Rosemary Mallon Carroll. Rosemary was the athlete of the year all four years she attended St Joseph Academy in Brentwood, NY. Her sports included girls track and field, girls softball and girls basketball, as well as horseback riding.
Billy played varsity soccer in HS and College. He has a degree in business from The University of Maryland in College Park, MD. He was the first Director of the Soccer Association of Columbia and is credited with starting the first girls recreational soccer program in the United States.
